Dropout Improv is a live improv show that features electric performances of short-form improv games, comedy, and a whole lot of shenanigans. This show will feature appearances by Dropout regulars Jacob Wysocki, Kurt Maloney, and some special guests as they connect with a live audience and return to their improv comedy roots. Since its launch in 2018, Dropout (formerly CollegeHumor) has quickly become one of the most popular subscription comedy platforms. Dropout presents independent, ad-free, uncensored comedy, producing and hosting several original series, such as Game Changer, Dimension 20, Very Important People… and many more.
Jacob Wysocki:
Jacob Wysocki is often described as a ‘good breeze’ or a ‘fine mist and even ’that guy from Pitch Perfect.’ He’s happy to be here and is ready to rip it up with the homies. Hell yeah, big dawgs!
Scott Passarella:
Scott Passarella is a composer and performer from the great state of California. Beginning as an onstage improviser, Scott soon discovered the fun of playing music for live shows, and started teaching musical improv at UCB, The Second City, and other theatres across Los Angeles. His improvised music has been featured on Dropout.tv, Hasbro/D&D’s Faster Purple Worm, Kill! Kill!, and Off Book: The Improvised Musical Podcast. In addition to thousands of improvised musicals, he has written music for films, podcasts, theme parks, and even barbershop quartets. His ten fingers have a combined 400 years of piano-playing experience.
Kurt Maloney:
Kurt Maloney is a comedian, writer and actor based in Los Angeles CA. He’s most known for his work with Dropout TV but did you know he also has written for television? Probably not because who watches the credits? Anywho, Kurt has written for KC Undercover, SMOSH, Dropout, Tuttle Twins, Fusion TV and more. When Kurt isn’t writing or performing live comedy, he’s hitting dingers for his men’s slow pitch softball team. Go Lil Termites!
Kimia Behpoornia:
Los Angeles native Kimia Behpoornia is an actor, writer, and improviser. Credits include Abbott Elementary, Hacks, Atypical, Reboot, and of course Dropout.
Jess McKenna:
Jessica studied theatre at Northwestern University and improv at UCB. She starred in Fox’s sketch show Party Over Here and is a regular on Dropout. Credits include: Curb Your Enthusiasm, Modern Family, Lower Decks, After Midnight. Jess and writing partner Zach Reino have won two WGA awards and developed projects for Amazon, Nickelodeon and ABC. Jess recently directed and co-starred in their first feature, Mock Trial. Their improvised musical podcast “Off Book” currently tours America.
Jiavani:
Jiavani is an improv fan favorite from Dropout TV. She also performs regularly at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in Los Angeles. You may have seen her on Netflix in the improvised Between Two Ferns: The Movie, Dead to Me, Reno 911, or providing dozens of voices on shows like Digman, We Baby Bears, and more.
Zach Reino:
Zach Reino studied at UC Irvine and the Upright Citizen’s Brigade, and is a regular performer and collaborator with Dropout.TV. He is one half of Off Book: The Improvised Musical with his writing partner Jessica McKenna. They have written songs for Peacock, Fox, and Nickelodeon, and most recently joined with David Wain to write the new musical Three Months Later. Acting credits include Curb Your Enthusiasm (HBO), A.P. Bio (NBC), Brews Brothers (Netflix), StuGo (Disney), and Zokie of Planet Ruby (Nickelodeon).
Rekha Shankar is a writer, comedian, and actress based in Los Angeles. Named a Vulture Comedian You Should and Will Know 2024, Rekha is the host of Dropout‘s SMARTYPANTS, which debuted its third season in early 2026. She is currently a staff writer for ODD JOBS, a new animated series for Amazon. Previously, she wrote on NBC’s DIGMAN for Comedy Central and Paramount+, GRAND CREW, Hulu’s ANIMANIACS and Netflix’s MAGIC FOR HUMANS. Shankar also played the role “Gaya’ in the Netflix/Zach Galifianakis feature, BETWEEN TWO FERNS. Rekha was a new face at 2020’s virtual Just For Laughs Comedy Festival. She also wrote for NETFLIX’S sketch comedy series ASTRONOMY CLUB, executive produced by Kenya Barris and was the head writer/performer at COLLEGE HUMOR. She is an improviser at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater and the writer/creator of HUSTLE, which is an Official Selection at SlamDance 202, the New Media Festival, the LA Comedy Festival and the NY Television Festival. She has also written for a Hari Kondabolu pilot (TruTV) and a Mike Kelton pilot (MTV). In 2025, she raised $250k for her independent film, VIDHYA’S GUIDE TO THE AFTERLIFE, directed by Sandeep Parikh.
