Today we remember legendary comedian Andy Kaufman, born on this day in 1949. Andy pushed boundaries and challenged expectations. His legacy lives on in the hearts of comedy fans worldwide and through the Andy Kaufman Awards. @carolinesonbway hosted the first-ever Andy Kaufman Awards show on November 11, 2004, as part of the inaugural New York Comedy Festival. The award, which celebrates the comedians who embody Andy’s spirit of originality, humor and courage, was first given to the brilliant Suzanne Whang who sadly passed away in 2019.
