On Sarah Adelman’s first day working at the sperm bank, she stares through her microscope into a petri dish full of semen and is shocked by how much the little wiggly sperms remind her of herself—intense, frantic, and desperate to be seen.

EGG is Sarah’s coming-of-age journey through bat mitzvah humiliation, data-driven dating, the sperm bank porn library, and a fateful meeting with her boss that would force her to reckon with whether she’s ready to truly become the EGG.

Sarah Adelman is a New York City-born comedian and former reproductive health research scientist. She performs at venues across New York and has appeared on The Today Show and HBO’s Game Theory. Earlier this year, Sarah was a resident at Ars Nova’s Comedy Artist Makers’ Program, where she developed and premiered EGG. Her short film “BUSTED!” will be released in 2025.
